The goal of the following portfolio is to present a clear picture of myself, my work and work process, and give you an idea of how I can contribute to your team.

Books

Book cover design presents a pleasant puzzle for me, in which the goal is to extract an abstract feeling of the whole book and display it efficiently and aesthetically on a two-dimensional surface. I test each idea as a small sketch, where I check the composition and visual clarity of the motif. All works are initially illustrated exclusively in grayscale, as this makes it easier to check the contrast and light value of the illustration. Color is added as the last step in the process.

Albums

In contrast with the thought-out approach in designing book covers, I design album covers mostly through intuition and freedom of experimentation. Nevertheless, the goal remains essentially the same and the work is carried out in a fairly structured manner.

Artworks are often the product of strong manipulation of colors, photos, textures and in more complex cases also use of 3D applications. For a more streamlined process, I use my own pre-prepared graphic elements, color corrections, textures and tools to help me stay in the flow. All works were created as part of commissions, competitions or independent experimentation.

Posters

TAM-TAM Plaktivat is an annual international poster design competition with the aim of promoting and raising awareness of social issues through design.

For the 15th Plaktivat, a record number of 780 works from all over the world were submitted. My entry, Krvosesi (Bloodsuckers), was ranked among the top 5 and was awarded the Silver Plaque. It later received a limited run as a public awareness city poster in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

UI/UX

For the redesign of the Babycenter online store, I collaborated with Relidea, and designed the new website based on their architectural and wireframe plans. The goal was to create a clean, simple and responsive experience that would increase online sales and make the online shopping experience easier for the customer.

Other projects include: UI design for Agenca - an online portfolio for a company that specialises in crafting bespoke wooden furniture, Orel Travel - a Slovenian travel agency, AND by Andraž - an e-commerce website for the leading Slovenian sports fashion brand, and designing a bespoke set of icons for Zebra BI's new website.

Brands

Caffe Lanovž is a boutique café situated inside a renovated mansion built by the Counts of Celje. The goal was to create a brand that represents a modern, imaginative and high-end culinary experience, while simultaneously being closely connected to its unique royal past.

Devon is a series of fresh and fragrant cleaning products. For them, I created a simple and playful brand that stands out on the store shelves and invites the customer to try something new.

For the EHF Men's 20 Euro the goal was to convey a strong sense of movement and fun and present it all in a distinctive and highly adaptable logo.

As a designer at Celtra, I had the opportunity to work in an extremely fast-paced and vibrant advertising environment, with colleagues and clients from all over the world.

Managing the design and technical production process of digital marketing campaigns for companies such as Braun, Pantene and Audi, was a complex and demanding task in which, due to its size (each company required on average two global campaigns for 10+ markets, and the average campaign usually had 500+ creative variations and 8+ sizes), it was always necessary to make a detailed and thought-out work plan.

Process

Research, communication, and initial conversation with the client are often the most important part of design, as they often serve as a strong foundation for the entire project. I like to tackle every project in a structured and thoughtful way. With the help of a notebook, I break down larger projects into tasks, as this gives me a better overview of progress and time assessment of work. The sketches are small and rough, drawn quickly, as their sole purpose is to quickly test the composition and visual clarity of the idea. All files related to the project are stored in a logical hierarchy of folders, with a unified naming convention across all projects.
